Will your FE college be privatised .. it is already happening in one college

UK FE Colleges could be privatised

 

The thought of FE being privatised is beyond the pale for many, indeed most, people working in the sector but things could be changing as this recent article in Education Investor indicates.  The College of Law is already subject to a private equity buyout ... and the Office of National Statistics have considered how FE colleges could be reclassified as private sector bodies.

FE Employer Engagement Marketing Strategy

Do you have a FE Employer Engagement Marketing Strategy? Or is it a very long wish list, vague ideas and assorted research findings?

 

Many FE providers produce very long marketing strategies.  These are frequently 100 pages or longer; and not as concise as they might be.  A good FE marketing strategy, for employer engagement or other FE offer, can be as short as a single page of A4; at worse it need to be no more than 3-4 pages long.  My recent article in FENews provides details of my Five Line FE Marketing Strategy.

Outstanding Employer Engagement

Congratulations to Logistics Apprenticeships Training Academy, West Midlands, on winning the TES FE Award for Outstanding Employer Engagement 2011.  

 

Competition was fierce and Chesterfield College was also commended.  LATA however showed how it is possible to engage with employers on a large scale with a careful strategy.
